Google launched its Google Fit platform alongside Android Wear last year and since being a Google app, it works very smoothly on Android Wear devices. There are also some cool social features, which let you interact with your friends and share your fitness plans. You can use your Android Wear smartwatch to give voice commands and you can customize what data you first see on your wearable. Endomondo comes in a free version and a premium version. The premium version is a subscription-based offer at $5.99/month or $29.99/year.

3. Strava Running and Cycling GPS

If cycling is more your thing, then Strava is the app for you. It is great for Android as it is, but with the Android Wear side of things, it all comes together quite nicely, offering up a little more information on your wrist as you get going, and it is something that a lot of cyclists will find useful to get updates as they are on the move.

Using GPS for accurate tracking, it brings all the usual heart rate, distance, and calorie metrics to the fore. The unique addition here though is Route, a clever feature that allows you to save your current route for a later date or download a new one that another app user has already posted.

Strava also lets you set records on your regular routes. If you cycle the same way to and from work every day, it will break down your route into a range of blocks. Now that half-mile section between two sets of traffic lights is your race track for a new PB.

Wear Hydrate me, as the name suggests helps you keep your body hydrated. The cool little app tracks and reminds you to take your daily water intake to keep you fit and healthy.

The app features a simple interface and various features like customizable goals, alarms, daily water intake tracking, and more. You can make an in-app purchase to see your monthly progress.

While the feature list might not be very impressive, it is certainly a useful app and gets the work done.

10. Runbit

Where Runtastic is all about stats and speed, Runbit is more about chewing up the miles and getting out there. On Android Wear, it shows you a map as you run or walk, and there are stars nearby that act as little dots to help you keep going and meet your goals. A more fun approach to things, Runbit is worth trying if you need a push to get out there.
