The Moto G is getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, perhaps as soon as next week since the soak test is beginning on Nov. 14. The information about the 1st generation Moto G comes from Xdadevelopers where a user chatted with a Motorola rep and mentioned that he was part of the Motorola Feedback Network. Motorola has already confirmed that the 2nd generation Moto X and Moto G would be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. According to the Motorola rep, “We may start testing with Indian owners (Moto G) as soon as today, 14 November.”
So if you own a 1st generation Moto G and you are in India, then you can look forward to getting a soak test invitation for Android 5.0 Lollipop update if you are part of the Motorola Feedback Network. To check for an update make sure your Moto G is charged, go to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check for updates.
