HTC revealed on Twitter that they would not bring Android Lollipop Update to HTC One Mini 2 aka One M8 Mini, as the update will not provide an optimal experience.
On October last year, HTC said that HTC One Mini 2 (aka One M8 Mini) will get Android Lollipop on sometime between March and April 2015. Recently, the company has tweeted that they will not bring Lollipop update to One Mini 2. The reason they give was “Lollipop on the One mini 2 will not provide an optimal experience”.
@EdoardoBerti We determined that Lollipop on the One mini 2 will not provide an optimal experience; it isn’t scheduled to receive the update

HTC’s response comes as a surprise as HTC One Mini 2, released on May 2014, is not even a year old. HTC claims that they made this decision because they “want the best possible experience” for their customers.
@mlhamdi We want the best possible experience for our customers. Unfortunately, bringing Lollipop to that device is not currently possible.
