Walkthrough

Our objective in Borderlands 2 The Great Escape is to retrieve a stolen Hyperion lunar supply beacon; because it is the only way Ulysses can leave the planet. Also, as a side objective, we have to find his pet. Both objectives are located inside Smoking Guano Grotto.

Ulysses pet is close to the elevator, and since its a side objective, we have to get it before the beacon. We just need to climb some wooden crates to reach the top of a small shack, and then we pick up the pet fish, Frederick.

The Hyperion beacon is harder to get, because its in a lava pit and we have to be careful while descending to its location, either using a ladder, or using the broken catwalks. We retrieve it, and then we return to Ulysses using the elevator.

On top of Inferno Tower, we place the beacon beside Ulysses. We speak to him to complete Borderlands 2 The Great Escape, after which we can stay for a while and watch the scene that follows, before heading on to complete other side-quests in Sawtooth Cauldron, such as The Lost Treasure.
