While we know Google will announce Android 6.0 Marshmallow at an event in San Francisco on September 29 along with two new Nexus devices, we do not know when the Android version would start rolling out to older devices. Now, a Canadian carrier Telus has posted on its website that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will start rolling out on October 5, 2015 for Google Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 smartphones.
The carrier, however, says that the date is not final, and is subject to change if things are not going as planned.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is said to bring more of a stability and performance improvements and a handful of new features. Google will reveal the new Android OS along with two new Nexus devices, the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, which will be the first devices to ship with the Android Marshmallow.
The two Nexus phones are made by LG and Huawei. The LG made Nexus 5X will be a smaller mid-end device, while the Huawei Nexus 6P will be a larger and high-end smartphone. Many information about these two phone has surfaced in the last few days including the images of retail boxes and press renders, which you can find here and here.
