Along with the Nexus 6; Google officially announced the tablet from HTC; the 8.9-inch Nexus 9. This will be available for pre-order from tomorrow and in stores from Novermber 3rd starts at $399 for base 16GB Wi-Fi model; $479 for 32GB Wi-Fi model; and $599 for 32GB LTE variant.
The Nexus 9 LTE model comes with penta-band HSPA+, quad-band GSM/EDGE and CDMA. Among the Nexus tablets Nexus 9 is first one to get Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The Nexus 9 features a 64-bit support with 2.3GHz NVIDIA K1 chipset, 2GB RAM. It got an 8MP rear facing camera with auto-focus and BSI and f/2.4 aperture; 1.6MP front camera; dual-band WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac; and a 6,700mAh battery. TC was also able to slide in its signature BoomSound stereo speakers, which have been impressive on its flagship devices. The 7.9mm-thick slate will be available in black and white and weighs in at 425g (436g for LTE). There is no wireless charging or memory card slot.
The display, covered by a slab of Gorilla Glass 3, also takes advantage of a 4:3 aspect ratio, rather than 16:9, and features a double tap to wake option. Unfortunately, at a resolution of 2048*1536, the N9 has a pixel density of 281 ppi, which is a bit lower than expected.
