Google Praises LG As The Best Nexus Engineering Partner

LG / Google Nexus 5X

Google always team up with other manufacturer for building their Nexus smartphones and so far we have seen Nexus handsets from the ASUS, HTC, Samsung, LG, Motorola, and Huawei. Out of all the Nexus partners, LG is the only OEM to build three Nexus devices in a row. Google has shed some light on why the company loves to work with LG.

In a recent video press conference, Google’s Android Engineering VP, Dave Burke said that LG is the best partner for engineering the Nexus smartphones. Burke goes on to add that this is because LG “shares the same approach to the mobile device market” as Google, and also mentioned that their engineers have enjoyed working with the team over at LG. To date, LG has made three Nexus handsets – the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and the Nexus 5X.

Although, he did not provide any reasons for why he considers LG’s partnership with Google is so special, the existence of the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and the Nexus 5X reveals that there must be powerful reasons. We are not sure if this is based on price negotiations, hardware innovations, or what have you, but it seems that the partnership will not end now.

The Google Nexus 5X is an affordable, and yet powerful Nexus smartphone for this year. The only other company that comes close to making as many Nexus handsets would be Samsung, who was responsible for the Nexus S as well as the Galaxy Nexus, although they did contribute to other Nexus products like the Nexus 10 tablet.
