Yesterday, Halo: The Master Chief Collection developer 343 Industries executive producer Dan Ayoub, written an open letter to all players about the matchmaking problem that was plaguing the series.
In the letter he said they had figured out the primary problem affecting matchmaking and had identified a solution. The studio also trimmed the number of available multiplayer match playlists in an effort to lead players to the ones that were working the best.
Ayoub also noted that people have been able to match make successfully when searching for anywhere from 15 seconds to four minutes, and advised players who don’t get in within four minutes to cancel the search and try again.
“I realize this isn’t ideal, but it’s temporary while we sort things out,”
“I’d like to personally apologize to you all for the current situation. I can assure you we’re attacking this from all directions from 343 Industries to the Xbox platform, and we won’t rest until it’s what it should be.”
In other news, due to this matchmaking issue the Halo Pre-Season Championship tournament has been postponed till the issue is resolved.
