How To Customize FM Radio Settings On Sony Xperia Tablet Z

Learn how to customize FM Radio Settings on your Sony Xperia Tablet Z. You can change sound settings, sound modes and identify radio tracks using TrackID.

Switching the radio sound between devices

You can listen to the radio through a wired headset or through wired headphones. Once either device is connected, you can switch the sound to the speaker, if desired.

To switch the radio sound to the speaker

  • When the radio is open, press Menu icon.
  • Tap Play in speaker.

Note: To switch the sound back to the wired headset or headphones, press Menu icon and tap Play in headphones.

Switching between mono and stereo sound mode

You can listen to your FM radio in either mono or stereo mode. In some situations, switching to mono mode can reduce noise and improve sound quality.

To switch between mono and stereo sound mode

  • When the radio is open, press Menu icon.
  • Tap Enable stereo sound.
  • To listen to the radio in mono sound mode again, press Menu icon and tap Force mono sound.

Identifying radio tracks using TrackID

Use TrackID technology to identify music tracks as they play on your device’s FM radio.

To identify a song on the FM radio using TrackID

  • While the song is playing on your device’s FM radio, tap TrackID icon.
  • A progress indicator appears while the TrackID application samples the song. If successful, you are presented with a track result, or a list of possible tracks.
  • Press Back button to return the FM Radio.

The TrackID application and the TrackID service are not supported in all countries/regions, or by all networks and/or service providers in all areas.
