How To Use Apps Screen On Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

The Apps screen displays all applications installed on your wireless device. Applications that you download and install from Google Play or from the web are also added to a Home screen.

The Apps icons are arranged in a customizable grid. To arrange the Apps icons in alphabetical order:

  • From a Home screen, touch Apps.
  • Touch Menu > View type.
  • Touch Alphabetical grid.

To manually change the order of the icons on the Apps screen:

  • From a Home screen, touch Apps.
  • Touch Menu > Edit.
  • Touch and hold an icon and drag it to a new position.
  • Touch Save to save the changes.

You can place shortcuts to applications on the Home screen for quick access to the application. For more information, refer to How to use App Shortcuts on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.

To view your downloaded applications:

  • From a Home screen, touch Apps.
  • Touch Menu > Downloaded applications.
  • Touch an icon on the Downloaded applications screen to launch the application.

Application Information

To view information about an App, such as the amount of storage it uses, force the App to stop, uninstall updates, and clear data:

  • From a Home screen, touch Apps.
  • Touch and hold an App icon, then drag it to i icon App info to open a screen with details about the App.
  • Touch Back to return to the Home screen.

Applications on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

The following is an alphabetical list of the applications that come preloaded on your device.

  • Alarm: Schedule alarms to remind you of appointments or events, or as a wake-up.
  • AllShare Play: Share your on-device media content with other external devices using DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) and built-in AllShare Play technology.
  • Amazon Kindle: Download Amazon books to read on your device. A shortcut to Amazon KindleTM displays on a Home screen by default.
  • Calculator: The calculator provides the basic arithmetic functions to solve simple arithmetic problems and advanced operators to solve more complex problems.
  • Camera: Take photos or record videos. A shortcut to Camera displays on the Home screen by default.
  • ChatON: A smart-messaging app that gives you a host of innovative ways to stay connected with all your friends and family, regardless of their device or platform.
  • Contacts: Save and manage contact information for your friends and colleagues.
  • Downloads: Files, apps, and other items you download in Internet, Gmail, Email, or in other ways, are stored on your tablets internal storage. Use the Downloads app to view, reopen, or delete what you have downloaded.
  • Dropbox: Provides access to your personal computer files directly from your device. Lets you take your photos, docs, and videos anywhere. A shortcut to Dropbox displays on a Home screen by default.
  • Email: Send and receive email from your device. A shortcut to Email displays on a Home screen by default.
  • Gallery: View and manage photos stored on your device. A shortcut to Gallery displays on a Home screen by default.
  • Game Hub: Access social and premium games. Join Game Hub to enjoy free games with your friends.
  • Gmail: Send and receive email with Gmail, Googles web-based email.
  • Google+: Share updates and see what is going on around you with Google+.
  • Internet: Access the Internet. A shortcut to Internet displays on the Home screen by default.
  • Latitude: Use Google Latitude to locate your friends on a map and share or hide your location.
  • Local: Use Google Local and Google Maps to find places of interest and to add your own favorite places.
  • Maps: Find locations and get directions with Google maps. A shortcut to Maps displays on the Home screen by default.
  • Media Hub: Browse the latest movies and TV shows, then rent or purchase the media for viewing on your device.
  • Memo: Create text memos and use Bluetooth to send memos.
  • Messenger: With Google Messenger, you can bring groups of friends together into a simple group conversation.
  • Music Hub: Allows you to purchase and download songs.
  • Music Player: Play music and other audio files that you copy from your computer.
  • My Files: Find, view and manage files stored on an optional installed memory card.
  • Navigation: Use Google Maps Navigation to search for locations, with turn-by-turn directions.
  • Netflix: Instantly watch TV shows and movies, streaming from Netflix. A shortcut to Netflix displays on a Home screen by default.
  • Next Issue: Offers enhanced editions of the worlds most popular magazines, optimized for tablets.
  • Photo editor: To perfect any photos stored on your tablet, use Photo editor to crop, rotate, resize, adjust color and contrast, and much more.
  • Play Books: Read eBooks from the web-based Google Play Books service.
  • Play Magazines: Google Play Magazines helps you subscribe to your favorite magazines so you can have them available to read on your tablet at your leisure.
  • Play Movies & TV: Use the Play Movies & TV app to view movies you rent from Google Play Movies or play any of your personal videos stored on your tablet.
  • Play Music: Play music and other audio files that you copy from your computer with the Music app.
  • Play Store: Browse, download, and install Android applications. A shortcut to Play Store displays on the Home screen by default.
  • Polaris Office: This application provides a central place for managing your documents online or offline. A shortcut to Polaris Office displays on a Home screen by default.
  • Readers Hub: Provides access to millions of books and novels, global and local newspapers languages, and popular magazines in multiple languages. A shortcut to Readers Hub displays on the Home screen by default.
  • S Planner: Record events and appointments to manage your schedule. A shortcut to S Planner displays on a Home screen by default.
  • S Suggest: Recommends popular applications, when your device is connected to a Wi-Fi, that are guaranteed to be compatible with your device.
  • Samsung Apps: Connect to Samsung Apps and make your smart device even smarter. Simply and easily download an abundance of applications to your device such as games, news, reference, social networking, navigation, and more. A shortcut to Samsung Apps displays on the Home screen by default.
  • Screensaver: When your tablet screen automatically times out, instead of a blank screen, enable the Gala
    xy Tab Screensaver, which is actually an action-packed video tour of all the fantastic features that you will find on your Galaxy Tab.
  • Search: Search the web by typing or speaking.
  • Settings: Configure your device to your preferences. A shortcut to Settings displays on a Home screen by default.
  • Smart Remote: Locate and watch programming on your tv and then control your entertainment system with gestures from the device. A shortcut to Smart Remote displays on a Home screen by default.
  • Talk: Chat with other Google Talk users.
  • Video maker: Create a movie, using a video you download or record with Camera, or by combining images. Add audio, to create a soundtrack, and then share your movie with your friends.
  • Video player: Play and manage videos stored on your tablet.
  • World clock: View the date and time in any time zone.
  • YouTube: View and upload YouTube videos, right from your device. A shortcut to YouTube displays on the Home screen by default.
