Flipboard Basics
Flipboard is your one-stop app for many networks and news sources. In fact, Flipboard supports Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Google Reader, LinkedIn, Instagram, Tumblr, and a few others! Once you have all your networks linked to the Flipboard account, a beautiful stream of information will appear in the app.
- Here’s a quick guide to getting your feet wet with an app favored by many:
- First you’ll want to get a copy of Flipboard for Android. After it’s installed, open the app and flip your finger upward on the screen to reveal the Get Started and Sign In options.
- Touch on Get Started and then pick some curated categories that interest you. Picking topics here will populate your stream in Flipboard so you can start experiencing the functionality of the app right away.
- Drag your finger upward on the screen and tap on Flipboard Account. Press Create and then fill in the personal details to be associated with your new account.
- You can choose to add more social networks into your stream by pressing on the blank gray square (or the ones marked for Twitter and Facebook) and then touching on Accounts. Here you’ll see all of the services you can integrate with Flipboard. Choose one and fill in the required information to add it into the “flipstream.”
- Now you’re ready to start reading and replying via the Flipboard app. Integration with Instapaper, Pocket and Readability allows you to save articles to read later, so you won’t miss a beat.
- So whether you’re looking to consolidate your news streams or just want to use one app instead of 10 (maybe more?), Flipboard is a very nice choice.
