How To Use Google Play Music App - Samsung Galaxy Tab 3

Learn how to use Google Play Music App on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. Google Play Music is a new service from Google that gives you instant access to your personal music collection on the Internet and your compatible Android devices without the hassle of wires or syncing.

Accessing the Music App

From a Home screen, touch Apps > Play Music icon. The Play Music app searches your online library and your devices internal storage for music and playlists. This can take from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the amount of new music added since you last opened the application.

Changing Library View

You can change the way you view the contents of your library.

  • Touch Play Music icon.
  • Near the top-left of the Application bar, touch an option to set whether to view All music or On device only.
  • Touch an option to set how you view your library. The choices are: Recent, Albums, Artists, Songs, Playlists, or Genres.

Play Music Menu

While viewing a Play Music main screen:

  • Touch Menu key for options.

To configure Play Music settings:

  • Touch Menu key > Settings.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

  • For more information touch Menu key > Help.

Play Music Options

Options are available for playing songs, albums, or playlists:

  • Touch Play Music icon.
  • Touch an album or song.
  • Touch the label area under an item to display options. Options display depending on the item view.

To play a song:

  • Touch Play Music icon.
  • Touch a song in your library to listen to it.

or

  • While viewing a list of songs, touch label drop-down icon next to a song and touch Add to queue.

or

  • While viewing a list of albums, artists, playlists, or genres, touch the label area under an item and touch Add to queue.

Shopping for Music at the Play Store

To visit the Google Play Store where you can find and buy music:

  • From a Home screen, touch Apps > Play Store icon.
  • Touch Music. The Google Play Store music section displays.

To view information about finding and buying music:

  • Touch Play Music icon.

Note

This guide will work on all Samsung Galaxy Tabs; including Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1.
