How To Use Groups - Samsung Galaxy Tab 4

Learn how to use Groups on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. Assign contacts to Groups to make searching for contacts faster or to quickly send messages to group members.

Creating a New Group

Create a new group when you add or edit a contact.

  • Touch Contacts icon.
  • Touch Groups above the Contacts List.
  • Touch Create icon.
  • Touch the Group name field and use the keyboard to enter a new Group name.
  • Touch Save to save the new group name.

Note: Contacts can belong to more than one group. Just touch the contacts Groups field and touch each group. Once you create a new group, the Contacts List can be set to
display only the contacts in that group. For more information, refer to “Contacts Display Options.”

Renaming a Group

To rename a group that you created:

  • Touch Contacts icon.
  • Touch Groups and then touch the group you want to rename.
  • Touch Menu icon > Edit group.
  • Touch the Group name field and use the keyboard to enter a new Group name.
  • Touch Save to save the new group name.

Deleting Groups

To delete a group that you created:

  • Touch Contacts icon.
  • Touch Groups and then touch any group you want to delete.
  • Touch Menu Key > Delete groups. The groups that can be deleted display.
  • Touch Select all or the name of each group to delete.
  • Touch Done to delete the groups. Choose from Group only or Group and group members.

Adding Group Members

To add a contact to a group, just Edit a contacts Group field.

To add multiple contacts to a group:

  • Touch Contacts icon.
  • Touch Groups and then touch the group to which you want to add members.
  • Touch Menu Key > Add member. The contacts that can be added display.
  • Touch Select all or the name of each contact to add.
  • Touch Done to add the contacts to the group.

Removing Group Members

To remove contacts from a group:

  • Touch Contacts icon.
  • Touch Groups and then touch the group from which you want to remove members.
  • Touch Menu Key > Remove member.
  • Touch Select all or the name of each contact to remove.
  • Touch Done to remove the contacts. Contacts are removed from the group and the group name is removed from each contacts Group field.

Note

This guide will work on all Samsung Galaxy Tabs; including Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1.
