How To Use HTC Mini Plus - HTC One M8

Learn how to use HTC Mini Plus on your HTC One M8. Want to multitask and take calls, read text messages, and more while browsing the Web or watching videos? Buy the HTC Mini+ and use it with HTC One.

Here are some of the things you can do right on HTC Mini+:

  • See instant notifications of text messages, calendar events, and email messages.
  • Make and receive phone calls.
  • View new text messages. Choose a preset response to send a quick reply, or call the sender.
  • View ongoing and upcoming calendar events.
  • Dismiss or snooze the alarm.
  • Use as a laser pointer.
  • Use as a remote control for HTC One. Remotely play music, control the shutter to take photos, or control a PowerPoint presentation.
  • Use as a TV remote control.

Connecting HTC Mini+to your phone

Use NFC or Bluetooth to pair and connect HTC Mini+ to your phone.

Note

  • NFC may not be available in some phones.
  • You only need to pair once. The next time you turn on HTC Mini+, it will automatically reconnect to your phone.
  • For more convenience, you can purchase and pair with several HTC Mini+ devices. For instance, you can have a device in your living room, bedroom, and study room. You can pair your phone with all HTC Mini+ devices, but your phone can only connect to two at the same time. Disconnect an HTC Mini+ device first before connecting to another one.

Pairing via NFC

If you’re using a protective case with your phone, remove it first before using NFC to pair and connect.

  • Go to Settings, and then under Wireless & networks, tap More.
  • Tap HTC Mini+.
  • Follow the instruction and illustration on your phone to turn HTC Mini+ on.
  • Tap NFC, and then tap Next.
  • Hold HTC Mini+ back-to-back with your phone until the phone vibrates.
  • Tap Yes when you’re prompted to pair with HTC Mini+.

Pairing via Bluetooth

  • Go to Settings, and then under Wireless & networks, tap More.
  • Tap HTC Mini+.
  • Follow the instruction and illustration on your phone to turn HTC Mini+ on.
  • Tap Bluetooth, and then tap Next.
  • Follow the instruction and illustration on your phone to make HTC Mini+ discoverable via Bluetooth.
  • Tap Connect.

Disconnecting HTC Mini+

Slide the Notifications panel open, and then tap HTC Mini+ to disconnect.

Managing HTC Mini+

While HTC Mini+ is connected, you can manage it from your phone. You can create your own Quick text replies to add to HTC Mini+, find the device if you misplaced it, and more.

  • Turn HTC Mini+ on.
  • On your phone, turn Bluetooth on. HTC Mini+ then automatically connects to your phone.
  • Go to Settings, and then under Wireless & networks, tap More.
  • Tap HTC Mini+.
  • Under Paired devices, tap Settings icon next to the HTC Mini+ device name, and then choose what you want to do.
