Learn how to use quick connect on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S. Use this feature to easily search and connect to nearby devices. You can use the device as a remote control by connecting it to a TV.
Note
- Connection methods may vary depending on the type of connected devices or the shared content.
- Device name may vary depending on the Bluetooth devices to pair with. For example, the device name can be shown as BT MAC.
Before using this feature
- When connecting to a device that supports the Quick Connect feature, turn on the devices screen to make it detectable.

When connecting to a device that does not support the Quick Connect feature, ensure that Wi-Fi Direct or the Bluetooth feature is activated.
Connecting to other devices
- Open the notifications panel and tap Quick Connect. When the panel opens, the Bluetooth feature is activated automatically and the device searches for nearby devices.
- Select a device to connect to. The next steps may vary depending on the connected device. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection between the devices.To allow nearby devices to search for your device and connect to it, tap Menu icon > Always ready to connect, and then tap the Always ready to connect switch to activate it.
Re-searching for devices
- If the desired device does not appear in the list, search for the device.
- Tap Refresh icon and select the device from the list of detected devices.
Disconnecting devices
- To deactivate the Quick Connect feature, tap View icon at the top of the screen. Alternatively, tap Back Key.
Sharing content
Share content with the connected devices.
- Open the notifications panel and tap Quick Connect.
- Select a device from the list of detected devices.
- Select a media category.
- Select the content to share and tap Done. Your device sends the content to the connected device.
Connecting to a TV
Connect the device to a TV and control the TV by using the device as a remote control.
- Open the notifications panel and tap Quick Connect.
- Select a TV from the list of detected devices. When the device is connected to the TV, a remote control layout appears on the screen. When you connect the device to a TV for the first time, tap Set up Remote control. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to complete connecting the devices.
- Control the connected TV using the remote control.

This guide will work on all Samsung Galaxy Tab S’s; including Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
