How To Use SmartShare - LG G Pro 2

Learn how to use SmartShare on your LG G Pro 2. SmartShare uses DLNA technology to share digital content through a wireless network. Both devices must be DLNA certified to support this feature.

  • From the Home screen, touch Apps icon > SmartShare icon.
  • Touch the Menu Key > Settings.
  • Touch Contents share to allow your device to be detected by other devices.
    • Touch Sharing requests and select the sharing requests option.
    • Touch Receive files if you would like to allow other devices to upload media files to your phone.

Note: Make sure that the microSD card is correctly mounted and the Receive files option in the Settings menu is checked.

  • Touch Shared contents and checkmark the types of content you would like to share. Choose from Photos, Videos and Music.
  • SmartShare is now activated and ready to share contents.

To control your renderer devices

Let your renderer device (e.g., TV) play multimedia content from your remote content library (e.g., PC).

Note: Make sure that the DLNA function of your devices is properly configured (e.g., TV and PC).

  • Touch Apps icon > SmartShare icon.
  • Touch the Player icon and select the device from the renderer device list.
  • Touch the Library icon and select the device of the remote content library.
  • You can browse the content library.
  • Touch and hold a content thumbnail and touch Play or touch the Menu Key > Play.

To share content from your phone to your renderer device (e.g. TV)

Note: Make sure that your renderer device is properly configured.

  • While playing your music using the Music application, touch SmartShare icon on the Title area.
  • Select the device from renderer lists to play the files.

Note: Follow the similar steps to use the Gallery, Videos or Polaris Office to share contents.

Note:Check that your device is connected with your home network using Wi-Fi connection to use this application.
Some DLNA enabled devices (e.g. TV) support only the DMP feature of DLNA and will not appear in the renderer device list. Your device might not be able to play some contents.

To download contents from the remote content library

  • Touch Apps icon > SmartShare icon.
  • Touch the Library button and select the device of the remote content library.
  • You can browse the content library.
  • Touch and hold a content thumbnail and then touch Download.

Note: Some contents are not supported.

To upload contents to the remote content library

  • Touch Apps icon > SmartShare icon.
  • Touch the Library icon and select My phone.
  • You can browse the local content library to find the content(s) you want.
  • Touch and hold a content thumbnail and then touch Upload.
  • Select the device of the remote content library to be uploaded.

Note: Some DLNA enabled devices do not support the DMS upload functionality and will not upload files. Some contents are not supported.
