How To Use Video Player - Samsung Galaxy Tab 4

Learn how to use video player on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. Use the Video app to view and manage videos stored on your tablet.

  • From a Home screen, touch Apps icon > Video icon.
  • Touch Thumbnails icon, List icon, or Folders icon.
  • Touch Search icon and use the keyboard to enter a search term. The current folder is searched and results are displayed. Touch X to remove the search field.
  • While viewing the list, touch Menu icon for options:
    • Share via: Share the video. Touch an option, such as Bluetooth, and follow the onscreen instructions.
    • Delete: Touch videos to select them for deletion or touch Select all to delete all videos.
    • Auto play next: Touch to enable or disable automatic playing ofvideos in the order they appear.
  • Touch a video to play it. While playing a video, touch the screen to display or hide onscreen playback controls.
  • While the video is playing, touch the Display Mode button on the right end of the control bar to change the Display Mode:
    • Full-screen in ratio view icon: The video is enlarged as much as possible without becoming distorted.
    • Full-screen view icon: The entire screen is used, which may cause some minor distortion.
    • Original size viewicon: The video will be played in its original size.
    • Stretch to fit icon: The video is enlarged to fit the screen without becoming distorted.
  • Touch Volume icon and then touch SoundAlive icon to set the sound quality.
  • Touch Pop up play icon to play a video as a small pop-up while viewing another screen. Touch and drag the pop-up video to the desired location on the screen. Double-tap the pop-up to return to full screen mode.
  • During playback, press Menu icon for options:
    • Trim: Trim the video being displayed. Use the sliders at the bottom of the screen to trim the video.
    • Share via: Share the video. Touch an option, such as Bluetooth, and follow the onscreen instructions.
    • Chapter preview: If chapter information is recorded in the video file, display the chapters. Touch a chapter to begin playing the video at that point.
    • Listen via Bluetooth: Turn Bluetooth on to use Bluetooth services.
    • Subtitles (CC): Select subtitles for the video when available.
    • Settings: Touch this option to view the following:
      • Brightness: Use the slider to set the brightness.
      • Capture: Turn On or Off the Capture mode.
      • Play speed: Check the box to display Play speed on the screen, which defaults to 1.0x. Touch the Play speed and then touch and drag the slider to decrease or increase play speed.
      • SoundAlive: Set SoundAlive to Normal, Voices, Music, or Virtual 7.1 ch.
      • Tag buddy: Assign a name to a person in a photo. Touch the OFF/ON button to turn it ON.
      • Subtitles (CC): View subtitles for the video, if available. Touch the OFF/ON button to turn it ON.
      • Details: Provides details about the video, such as Name, Size, Resolution, and so on.

Note

This guide will work on all Samsung Galaxy Tabs; including Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1.
