LG reports that it has sold 15.4 million smartphones – a 26 percent increase, in the first quarter of 2015 and records a revenue of $3.27 billion.
In the first quarter financial report (Q1 2015), LG mobile division declares that it has healthy growth in sales by shipping over 15.4 million smartphones. This is slightly lower than the last quarter (Q4 2014) sales figure, which recorded a 15.5–million smartphone shipments. Still, this is LG’s highest first quarter sales and is a 26 percent increase compared to last year’s first quarter (Q1 2014) sales.
LG also reports that its sales in North America increased by an impressive 66 percent compared to the same period of 2014, while sales in Korea grew 57 percent from the previous quarter with the introduction of the G Flex2 premium smartphone featuring a unique Plastic-OLED display.
During the first quarter of 2015, LG records a total revenue of KRW 3.6 trillion (USD 3.27 billion), an increase of 5 percent from the first quarter last year. LG hopes that their upcoming Android flagship smartphone, LG G4 will help boost their sales even further. Yesterday, LG announced LG G4 and will go sale sometime next month.
