WhatsApp team has updated their popular messaging platform for Android, which now sports Material Design UI introduced in Android 5.0 Lollipop. This update is not made available in Google Play Store, but users can download it from the official WhatsApp website.
With the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, Google introduced the all-new Material Design, which features better visuals and a simplistic interface. After the update made its way to several handsets, many developers gave their apps the new look to go with the new operating system and the latest to join is WhatsApp.
The visual refresh really makes for an inviting experience, and one you will want to continue using. The official change log is not yet available, but other than the new design, the app gets voice-calling feature, which was introduced a few days back. Furthermore, reports suggest that Facebook is testing some sort of integration between WhatsApp and Facebook apps to offer users an easier way to share stuff from the social media app with their WhatsApp friends.
To install this new update, either you can wait for the WhatsApp team to update the Google Play Store or you can download the “apk” file from the WhatsApp website. Remember, to install apk files in your Android smartphone visit Settings -> Security and enable Unknown Sources option.
