With a statement on its website, Rockstar Games warns its players to stay away from the GTA 5 beta scams; and they are clear about no pre-release beta test for GTA 5.
“Please note: There is no pre-release ‘Beta’ test for Grand Theft Auto V. If you see ads or solicitations to join a beta program, beware as this is likely some type of online phishing scam.”
Rockstar Games has had to issue a warning to players regarding pre-release Beta testing for the improved versions of GTA 5. There have been a number of instances where gamers might have lost or been close to losing their information to someone other than Rockstar themselves. While we can expect Rockstar to keep our information safe, its still wise to be aware of these sorts of things.Theyve even put up a special webpage to notify players who might have questions regarding the faux advertising they may have seen around the web.
Rockstar clarified that though it released this warning last year for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, it still holds true for the upcoming PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions. The new-gen console versions arrive on November 18, but we’ll have to wait until January 27, 2015 for the PC version.
