Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1 is a rugged phone that this week got certified for the USA market by the GCF. This unit supports LTE Category 4 and it’s quite a bulky and massive handset, that is able to reach 150 Mbps in download speed.
The OS here is an atypical one, Windows Embedded 8 Handheld, a platform for business devices and enterprise ones. The chipset inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, clocked at 2.3 GHz and the screen also comes with high brightness and high contrast, as well as a 5 inch diagonal. It’s specifically tailored to use in outdoor environments, so its contrast is very good. Resolution is 720p and there are two cameras on board: a front 1.3 MP CMOS shooter and a back 8 MP camera.
Bluetooth 4.0 is here as well, plus WiFi dual band and the big case is waterproof and dust proof. Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1 is also shock resistant and drop resistant, plus it comes with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. Finally, the battery is an impressive 6200 mAh unit and since the GFC certification happened, you may as well see this product in US stores with a big price, pretty soon.
