Rosetta Mission To Land A Small Spacecraft On Comet 67P

The mission began by European Space Agency(ESA) 10 years ago and now it’s time to land Philae which is oven size robot on a comet called Churyumov-Gerasimenko (which also know as comet 67P). Chasing the comet in space is not easy even though it is in constant motion. Finally Philae lander ready to land on moving comet but it might take seven hours to land.

The comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko or 67P was discovered by astronomers in kiev in 1969and the size of the comet is 4 km long with similar to peanut and it moves in space at the speed of 11 miles per second (63,730 km/p). All comets may contain carbon molecules that might provide water on that this comet can seen every 6.5 years between the earth and jupiter for past 10 years, Philae observed and take photo’s of comet and now it ready to land.

The philae is oven size robot with 100 kg weight and it is built by European consortium include European Space Agency(ESA) form Austria, France, Hungary, Finland, Italy, UK and Ireland. It as three leg to land in comet and 2 anchor to fix in surface of comet and also it has 10 different research equipment to know the behavior of comet such as radiation, temperature, magnetic field etc, there are many difficulties to land if it is landed safely then that would be historic miles stone for European Space Agency.
