The Shadowrun is almost ready for prime time, and Harebrained Schemes proudly announced three different ways to preorder the game for PC, Mac or Linux, at three price points.
They have got Basic, Deluxe and Collectors Edition priced $15, $30 and $75 respectively. If you’re willing to spend more than the base price, the developer will sweeten the deal with a variety of goodies, like the soundtrack, collectible USB dog tags and a downloadable Shadowrun Returns Anthology. Keep in mind that the Collector’s Edition is available for a limited time, and Harebrained Schemes has yet to reveal details for iOS and Android. As we creep ever-so-slowly towards its release date, we’re finally getting a little more information. For one thing, its “classless” system has been detailed a little bit, with input from creative director Jordan Weisman. “Shadowrun is a classless system, meaning that players are not restricted to a single character development path,” Weisman explains to Game Informer. “Rather, players start with a representative Shadowrun character archetype and are then free to grow their character as they wish, spending Karma points to choose any skill or ability available in the game.”
There are six base archetypes, encompassing the likes of everything from the mage to the street samurai, as immortalized here in these concept-to-in-game-model screenshots. Shadowrun’s shaping up to be something super special (and strangely sibilant).
