Sony Will Reveal Xperia Z4 And Z4 Ultra On Jan 5

Consumer Electronics Show kicks off in January followed closely by Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Sony is apparently just one OEM with two big announcements of Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z4 Ultra on the table.

According to a tip received by PhoneArena, Sony is gearing up to announce the Xperia Z4 and the Xperia Z4 Ultra, two brand new flagship products. The Xperia Z4 will reportedly back a 5.4-inch Quad HD display, an improved 20.7MP camera, a Snapdragon 805 processor and an alleged 4GB of RAM, though we agree with PhoneArenas skepticism on that last spec. The phone will also reportedly run Android 5.0 Lollipop at launch. The Xperia Z4 Ultra will reportedly measure just 5.7mm thick and feature a 5.9-inch display, a 16MP camera and the same 4GB of RAM thats rumored for the Xperia Z4.

PhoneArena was also passed the images that you see above, which reportedly depict both the Xperia Z4 and the Xperia Z4 Ultra. The images are a bit blurry, and the design doesnt look too far off of what weve already seen from Sony, save for one that shows some more rounded edges. With January just around the corner, it might not be long until we see the real thing.

Sony just unveiled a new IMX230 sensor with 20.7 MP resolution, image plane detection AF tech, and 192-point autofocus for blur-free snaps of fast-moving objects, as well as real-time HDR stills, so that might be what we will see in the Z4 indeed.

Expected specs of Sony Xperia Z4

  • 5.4-inch Quad HD display
  • Snapdragon 805 Processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 20.7MP rear and 4.8MP front camera
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop
  • 3420mAh battery

Expected Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra Specs

  • 5.7mm thickness
  • 5.9-inch Triluminos Display
  • Snapdragon 805 Processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 16MP rear camera with dual LED flash
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop
