Yesterday, we told you that Sony was getting ready to announce an Xperia Z4 Tablet at MWC 2015 next week. The company will also reveal a new water-resistant smartphone called Xperia M4 Aqua.
It will be joined in Sony’s portfolio by the Xperia M4 Aqua, which, as its name implies, is going to be the successor to the Xperia M2 Aqua from last year. This has been on sale for much less than a year, so the introduction of a revised model seems odd.
The information comes from the leaked document you can see above. It also lets us know that the Xperia M4 Aqua will launch running Android 5.0 Lollipop, which any new handset should – since it’s already been out for months.
Once again, Sony will be skipping a number here – there was no Xperia M3 Aqua. And because that “Aqua” moniker is in there, the M4 Aqua should be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, just like the M2 Aqua before it.
Unfortunately other specs haven’t been leaked yet, so it’s anyone’s guess what will go inside the new phone. But with MWC so close, we’re bound to find out soon enough.
