Earlier Today, Twitter has updated its iOS client, bringing some extended 3D Touch features like Peek and Pop previews in the timeline and other sections of the app. Previously, Twitter for iOS only supported 3D Touch shortcuts from the home screen.
The Peek & Pop preview allows you to quickly peek into links, Twitter profiles, and media content by simply pressing lightly on them. By swiping a peek upwards, you will also gain access to shortcuts to either share via direct message and iOS extensions or, in the case of profiles, mute, block, and report a user.
However, the new peek and pop previews do not work in the Notifications tab. While the third party client Tweetbot gained support for 3D touch last year, it is only now the official Twitter client is fully embracing it.
Twitter has not officially mentioned about the addition of these new 3D Touch gestures in the change log of the app, but by updating to the latest version 6.5.4, you can experience it.
